6 day program in Hungary


DAY 1   BUDAPEST - PÉCS                     
Arrival to Budapest, the tour guide join the group and leaves for Pécs. Mysterious Roman burial Vaults, Turkish Mosques, slender minaret, Fine Zsolnay ceramics, grandiose Csontvári paintings, decorative Vasarely Patterns, almond trees blossoming in early spring, restaurants and cafés with pleasant atmosphere – this is all Pécs, the 2000-year-old city with Mediterranean climate and mood lying at the southern foot of the Mecsek. Dinner and overnight at 4*Hotel in Pécs.

DAY 2   PÉCS - KECSKEMÉT - HAJÓS - KALOCSA - KECSKEMÉT                     
Breakfast in the hotel. Morning sightseeing tour in Pécs, then departure for Kecskemét via Kalocsa and sightseeing tour in Kalocsa. Tasty red paprika drying in strings on the eaves of houses, the flower ornamented wall paintings of verandas and the beautiful embroidery and folk costumes combining fine lances with colourful lower motifs has spread the fame of Kalocsa into distant lands. Walk in Cellar Village of Hajós, 1200 grape press houses is an architectural curiosity in Europe. Lunch in Hajós with a program of electing the wine general of the group. Dinner and overnight in a four star Hotel in Kecskemét.

DAY 3   KECSKEMÉT - EGER                     

After Breakfast, morning sightseeing tour in Kecskemét. The apricot brandy, Art Nouveau buildings decorated with colourful ceramics, and the „Kodály method” of teaching music have spread its fame far and wide. Reception at the Town Hall, then departure for the puszta. Puszta program at Pongrácz Mayor, reception with spirits and snacks, horse show, visiting a living farm by horse carriages, lunch with drinks and gipsy music. Afternoon departure for Eger. Dinner and overnight in a four star hotel in Eger.

DAY 4   EGER - HOLLÓKŐ - BUDAPEST                        

Breakfast in the hotel. Walking sightseeing tour in Eger, one of the most attractive Baroque cities, a 1000-year-old Episcopal seat – today an archiepiscopal centre – with a glorious historical past and great historical monuments. Departure for Budapest via Hollókő. The world’s first village to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This small village nestling among the Cserhát Mountains has preserved its medieval form: the village centre consisting of 65 buildings of this living museum village and the remarkable white-walled church – has not changed since the fire at the beginning of the century. Folklore show, museum visits, dressing in folk costumes, traditional lunch at families. Dinner and overnight in a four star hotel in Budapest

DAY 5   BUDAPEST                         

After breakfast, morning sightseeing tour in Budapest, Heroes Square and City Park, Andrássy street with Opera House, St.Stephen’s Basilica, Parliament, Castle District with Matthias Church and Fishermen’s Bastion, Gellért Hill. Afternoon free. Farewell dinner with folklore show at a typical Hungarian restaurant or cellar.
